Open Windows Device Manager and select 'View > Devices by Type'. Expand the 'Ports (COM & LPT)' tree to locate the MicroLink HART Protocol Modem and identify its assigned COM port.
The HART protocol requires a loop resistance of 230 to 600 ohms, typically 250 ohms. You can connect the two screw terminals or mini-clips directly to your HART device or HART loop, ignoring grounding and polarity issues since Microflex provides electrical isolation.
When connected with drivers installed, a green LED indicates the modem is enumerated and ready. A red LED means the modem is actively transmitting a HART packet, and an orange LED indicates it is receiving a HART reply.
